Faculty Wins ESL PS 3


This Sunday, June 28th, two final matches of the ESL PS Season III were played. N!Seasonic faced Team Celsus for the first and Raptor Gaming faced E5 for the third place. Read more for the outcome.


 

 

The most interesting match to all the spectators was definately the match for the first place of the season between n!faculty and Team Celsus. After a great season (5 wins in all 5 games), the Celsus team was quite confident in winning this match and on top of that they had already beaten n! in the regular part of the season.

 

From the beginning it seemed that Celsus was going to take this final, because the first match played was the 5on5 one, which Celsus won after 13 dramatic rounds with 7-6. They also won the first 2on2 match, which gave them a 4-0 lead against n!. This ment that faculty had to win all the upcoming matches to gain a draw and force a decider map to be played. And that's exactly what happened! They won the 1on1, the second 2on2 and the 3on3 which made it a 4-4 overall. After that a decider map was played (Heads Up by Guykes) and faculty won on it by 7-5 which concluded this epic match, and n!seasonic were crowned champions of the ESL Premiership Season III!

 

There was an interesting battle for the third place also between E5 and Raptor. This match, like the n! vs. celsus one, also required a decider map to determine the winner, even though E5 was considered an underdog in this match. There were some issues with the decider map, which concerned the leaving of some E5 players, and Raptor clearly won the map by 7-0.

 

These two matches thus concluded an exciting season of the ESL PS, and we are all looking forward for the beginning of the fourth season in the meanwhile, enjoy the break! Clin d'oeil
