February Updates


Hi everyone, here are all the new contents or modifications we brought to TM-Rankings this Month !
A calendar has been created, the rankings calculation has been improved, the possibility to enter/leave a team has been released, and some other things have been coded.

 


Calendar

calendarA calendar showing the upcoming (but also those which have already been played) competitions is now available, and you can add any events on your own by creating a competition (Controls / Submit a Competition). It will then automatically appear on the calendar.

Once the results of this event added, an admin will validate them.

 

 

Rankings updated

 

rankingsThe way the calculation is done has been improved for the competitions of the same category. The average of the competitions from the same category is still calculated, but a coefficient has been blended into the formula in the case a player participated in several competitions from the I2 to the N4 category, as followed:

 

-The average is multiplicated by 1.75 if the player participated in 2 competitions of the same category
-The average is multiplicated by 2.25 if the player participated in 3 competitions of the same category
-The average is multiplicated by 2.50 if the player participated in 4 competitions of the same category
-The average is multiplicated by 2.67 if the player participated in more than 4 competitions of the same category

 

For instance, Tannis who reached the 2nd place in the GeiL #7 (= 46points) and who won the GeiL #8 (= 48points):

Average Calculation: (46 + 48)/2 = 47
Coefficient: 47*1.75 = 82.25

 

With the former system, a player who would have played and won a competition once would have been ahead of a player who would have finished 4 times 2rd of this competition.

Joining your team on your own

 

teamsIf someone is already referenced in your team and you aren't, he can tell you the password to join the team on your own.

 

Indeed, once logged on the website, a player who is in a team can get its password by clicking on "Controls / Profile". Then, he has to give it to the other player (the one who wants to enter the team on TM-Rankings), who has to click on "Controls / My Teams"

 

In this menu, he'll just have to chose the team he wants to enter and to type the password he got. After he has submited it, he'll have to chose his nationality (by selecting a flag), the date he joined the team and also his nickname (NO SPECIAL CARACTERS PLEASE !).

 

Note: In the case you'd already be referenced in Tm-Rankings' database but that we wouldn't have found your login (to verify whether we have your login or not, go on your personal page, and see if you nickname is shown as ingame or not), you must create a topic on the forum to tell us your login and your nickname on TM-Rankings, before joining a team.

Note2: You can also leave your team ("Controls / My Teams").

 

 

New Menus

 

menuA new menu has been created on the homepage: "Links". You'll find a "Packmap" submenu (containing the packs of the most important TM competitions), and a "Top Links" submenu. This one contains links to the best Trackmania related websites.
